Restoration Ministries April 2012 #1

Jeny is continuing her Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy. It is a slow process but she does show slight improvement in her left arm and hand. Pray for her because her legs do not have the strength for her to stand as yet.

Every month we go to the eye doctor for her to check Jeny's left eye. Her left eye is starting to straighten up with the help of the patch.

Brother Len and myself  met at the church at 9 am. The two of us left and spent the morning visiting 8 people from the church and 3 people from the community. We had a great time sharing with each other as well as the others visited.

I traveled to El Tesoro to meet with brother Len and brother Tavo. We met at the house of brother Tavo to talk with the man giving us the price of the materials and labor to stucco the outside of the church. We agreed on the price and they are to begin work in three weeks. Brother Tavo said he would supply the sand for the project at no cost.

All the materials have delivered to the church. We are grateful for God's help to supply the finances for the stucco work.

Brother Len and myself visited Chila and her daughter to give food to them. Chila also has a son but he ws not there. She is a single mother living in the mountain village of El Tesoro. She has a hard life in that she physicaly handicaped and her brother beats her just because he can. We took her 50 pounds of corn and 50 pounds of black beans.

The same day we took 50 pounds of corn and 50 pounds of black beans to Amanda's children. Amanda was a widow but she got married. Her husband already has eight children and he did not want Amanda's six children to live with them. The six children live in the house without an adult. The youngest is 4 years old the oldest is 20.

We met another widow that her husband died in February of colon cancer. Her name is Telma she has three children. Telma has a little girl one year old. She is need of help to purchase milk for the little girl.
You can purchase Nido one year plus that will last for about a month. It costs $25 for a large can of Nido.

If you would like to help. One hundred pounds of corn cost $28 and one hundred pounds of black beans cost $54. If you are unable to buy a 100 pounds perhaps you can purchase 50 pounds. Fifty pounds of corn cost $14 and fifty pounds of black beans cost $27.

Restoration Ministries February 2012 #7

They came for a short visit. We were able to go to the villages of Tachoche and Obraje Las Minas. It was planned to go to El Savador but as Paul said many times in the Bible "he was hindered". He would say this when he was unable to visit places he desired to go. When we got to the border there was a problem with a couple of team members visas. The last time they came to Guatemala they were not in the computer as leaving the country. So when we tried to cross into El salvador they were shown as living in Guatemala over a year without a valid visa. We were "hindered to go El Salvador to hold an outside meeting in the town square.

On the way to the village of Tachoche we were able to stop in the village of Guior. We were there about thirty minutes and shared with Sandra and her family. They are members of the Church of God there. before we left we had a prayer. Then we drove to the village of El Tesoro to visit with brother Len and his wife Catarina. When we arrived they were excited to see us as we were to see them. After we were there for awhile Hixon and his parents came by the church to visit. It was good for brother Tommy Johnson and his wife Molly to see Hixon. They had provided formula for Hixon for a year because he was very malnourished. We said our good byes and left for Tachoche.

Around 10 to 10:30 am we arrived in the village of Tachoche. Pastor Secundino met us with a smile and excitment and the other leaders of the church. Pastor Abraham and the team came to hold a commencement service with the leaders. The leaders had received four three day sessions of teaching over four months. Pastor Abraham spoke to the leaders and also brother Babu. The commencement service concluded with prayer for the leaders and a Diploma for the sessions completed. It was an awesome day. In the evening brother V.J.  sharede the word following the movie about Joseph. There were around a 100 people present including women and children.

The next day we traveled to the village of Obraje Las Minas to visit with Pastor Danilo, Yadira, and his two daughters. During the day the team gave away around 100 pair of reading glasses donated by the Lions Club. K.J., brother Babu and myself went to Esquipulas to hand out 50 blankets to children. Pastor Mario was excited to see us as were the parents and the children. Then we had a wonderful lunch with fried tilapia. Brother Johnson prepared the seasoning for the tilapia. In the evening Pastor Abraham shared the word of God. It was a great service filled with the presence of the Lord and the Holy Spirit. Thank you CCA for coming and blessing the people of the these villages.

The INEB Middle school had their Carnival. The students were divided into groups to make the animals that marched in the parade. All the students did a great job on their paper mache creations. We are very proud of all the students.

Restoration Ministries February 2012 # 5

We go once a month to four schools give the 20 students the money from their sponsors. The monthly money goes to help them with transportation, lunch or projects they need to complete for their class. The students and their parents are very grateful for the financial support. Without the financial help these students would not be able to attend middle school.

To help a student attend Middle School or High School for the school year 2013. The school year in Guatemala is from the middle of January thru October. The cost is: $150 due by the middle of December. The $150 includes all the school supplies for the year, one daily uniform, one pair of dress school shoes, one pair of tennis shoes for P.E.

Then $30 a month to help with transportation, lunch or school project's. Even though you help with all the things they need to attend class. If they do not have transportation most of them live a distance from the school that would hinder them from attending the school.

Restoration Ministries February 2012 #4

The 14th thru the 16th of February we had the last of the "Leadership Training" sessions in the village of Tachoche. I am thankful for Eric Stone who we invited to teach the classes and also his wife Debra. They did an excellent job teaching the leaders. We are extremely grateful to CCA from Chatanooga Tn. and their desire to train the leaders in Tachoche. I beleive we are going to see much fruit form these leaders. It is our desire to raise up pastors from the 18 leaders who attended the sessions. That they will be able to fill in at the churches where there are no pastors. Pray with us as we work in this endeavor to raise up pastors.

Thanks to Pastor Secundino for his desire and help to encourage his leaders to attend the sessions. We also to give our thanks to Pastor Secundino's wife and their daughters for preparing and cooking the food during the session. The 18 leaders finished four three days sessions over five months. The lessons covered the call, how to share the gospel, and how to share your testimony. Then the teaching from Genesis to Revelation on how the life of Christ is revealed in scripture.
