Handing out medicines to three Health Departments

Vickie, Mercedes, Joselyn and myself went to Camotan, Lantiquin, Jocotan to give some medications and other medical supplies to the Health Departments. To see the expressions on the Doctors and Nurses faces was worth the trip. The Tennessee team left solme medical supplies behind and we gave it those in greatest need. Thank you Brother Anil and the entire Tennessee team for their generous gift.

Childrens outreach in the Vlliage of Morola

We traveled to Morola about an hour and a half drive from us. You need a four wheel drive vehicle to get there. About an hour of the ride is straight up the mountain. The drive up you can view the beautiful mountains and the gorgeous valleys below.

Upon arrival we were met by Pastor Humberto and his family. Then the people began to gather to greet us. It was our first visit to Morola.

It was a great day! Pastor Jaime from Caparja led the childrens day of ministry. He dressed up as a clown. The children or "patojos" as they are called here were excited to see the clown.

God ministered in an awesome way. Pastor Jaime shared the story of Joseph and his dreams by using twelve of the boys in the service. Everyone was glued to the message as he spoke and through the use of acting out the story as well. It was a tremendous service as he left us with the knowledge of how God is with us no matter what turns our lives make.

Following the message several songs for the children were sung. One of the favorite songs that the children love is the FROG song. It has cute motions and the jest of the song is that Jesus loves frogs too! I will try to make a video of the song for the future.

Upon the completion of the songs three games were played. Most of the boys and girls participated in some form. All were shouting, jumping and clapping for the the teams they were on. Everybody left full of joy and God's word.

Everyone was grateful for Vickie, Jessica, Rosa and the other young girl who helped in the kitchen. They worked extremely hard preparing the delicious food for us. Thank you!

We want to give God the Glory for all that was accomplished during the week of June 15th, 2009 thru June 20th, 2009. During the two days of medical clinic, we saw 750 people. During the three nights of evangelistic meetings, clinic, and door-to-door visitation, 173 people accepted the Lord as their Savior. Thank you Anil, Pastor V.P. Abraham, Thomas Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, Rosy P., Susan Mathews, Dr. Roy Oommen, Varghese Chacko, and Lelamma Chacko for giving of your time to come and bless the people in Caparja and El Tesoro. I also want to thank Diego Cruz and Rudy for translating.

On Friday morning, we all went to Copan Ruinas, Honduras. It was a special day to visit the Mayan Ruins and hear about their history. It was a long walk, but everyone enjoyed seeing a different part of the history of the world.
In the evening we had an evangelistic service at the Caparja Church of God where Pastor Jaime is the pastor. The place was filled to capacity. However, more importantly than that, the Holy Spirit filled the house as well. Pastor Abraham brought a tremdous message. Diego translated for Pastor Abraham. Many people were prayed for by the laying of hands and lives touched by the Lord. Everyone left knowing they had been in the presence of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

On June 18th, Doctor Roy, Doctor Susan and four nurses and the rest of the team went to the village of El Tesoro, Camotan. Once again upon our arrival, people were already lined up waiting to see the Doctors. Before we began, Pastor Abraham prayed for God to help give the team strength and be with all the people waiting to enter the clinic.

Jehova Jira provided the worship music for the day. Brother Thomas shared the gospel with the people in the morning, and Diego Cruz translated so the local people would understand the message. In the afternoon, Pastor Abraham preached the word with boldness. Many amens were given in response to the message along with rejoicing in the Lord. Diego also translated and was a great blessing to the team for his help. We also want to thank Rudy for translating for the doctors and nurses. Some how God stretched the medicines so everyone was able to receive medication. Two hundred and fifty people came through the clinic that day. Praise the name of the Lord!

We want to also thank Pastor Danillo and all the women of the church who prepared chicken soup for the team. They were a great help in making the sandwiches for the team and the others who helped.

The evening of the 17th, we had a fantastic evangelistic service. The music by Jehova Jira blessed us as we lifted our hearts and hands in worship to our Lord which was followed by a beautiful song led by Brother Thomas Johnson in their native Indian language.

Then Susan Mathews shared from her heart about her son, Philip, with a power point presentation. The Lord captured each heart with her every word.

Philip was born with a cleft lip, one ear, one eye, no stomach, and many other medical complications. The Doctors said that he would not live. God has brought Philip through numerous surgeries. He is now nine years old. The Doctors have reconstructed his face, and given him a prosthetic eye and other operations to help Philip. Susan gave an alter call and many of the local people came forward for prayer. The Holy Spirit was mighty in the street service. Many lives were touched as they cried and rejoiced what the Lord had done in their lives.

We had our first day of Medical Clinic on June 17th. Two weeks before the team arrived, Pastor Jaime, David, and I passed out 350 tickets in the town of Caparja. The clinic was scheduled to be from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. However, people began to gather at the church at around 7:00 am. We had prepared the two Doctor's stations, the counseling station, triage station, and the pharmacy. We opened the clinic with prayer and started to work. It was amazing; people just kept coming and coming. The line seemed to be endless. By the end of the day around 500 people had come to the clinic. Pastor Abraham shared the gospel at the counseling station and with the crowd in the afternoon. By the end of the day, 170 people accepted Jesus as their Savior. It was so awesome and overwhelming. To God be the GLORY!

On the evening of June 16th, we held an evangelistic service in the center of the town of Caparja. Music was provided by Jehova Jira. Everyone joined in worship. Pastor Jaime, the pastor of the local church, shared the word from his heart. I believe everyone left strengthened by the Lord.

Missions Team From Tennessee

God sent a team from Chattanooga TN to help the people of Southeast Guatemala. Nine wonderful people came to serve the people of Caparja and El Tesoro. They all arrived ready to work from June 15th thru June 20th, and work they did.

On June 16th we all arrived in the small town of Caparja. The town is located about a mile from the Honduran border. It is also about 30 minutes from the town of Copan Ruinas, Honduras. That morning we gathered in the church and organized three groups. The groups went door to door to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Upon the return of the groups, we all began to rejoice. Three people had received Jesus as their Savior. Praise be to the Lord!
